The standard UK commission rate is currently 9%, inclusive of applicable taxes including VAT. TikTok also documents category-level reductions that can produce an effective 5% rate for specified Electronics and Beauty & Personal Care products. Because eligibility depends on category and seller conditions, the calculator keeps the commission rate editable.
TikTok's UK commission formula includes platform discount in the commission base and subtracts corresponding refund adjustments. The profit calculation on this site is a planning estimate rather than a statement reconciliation, so platform-funded discounts are not automatically treated as seller cash revenue. Compare final results with Seller Center statements before using them for bookkeeping.
Assume a £30 product with no discount or refund, £8 COGS, £3 fulfillment and a 10% creator commission. At the standard 9% platform rate, platform commission is £2.70 and creator commission is £3.00. Total modeled costs are £16.70, leaving £13.30 estimated profit and a margin of about 44.3% before advertising, overhead, taxes outside the fee model and other settlement adjustments. If the same product qualified for an effective 5% category rate, platform commission would fall to £1.50 under the simplified no-discount scenario.

Discounts and refunds can change both the fee base and seller revenue, so a £30 list price does not always mean the platform commission is simply £30 multiplied by 9%. Use the detailed fields when modeling promotional orders or partial refunds.
